If the Bombers thought being announced at the Myrtle Beach Pelicans' opening ceremonies was exciting, they had no idea of what was yet to come. The Myrtle Beach Pelicans were selected to host the All Star Game between the Carolina League and California League at the B, B, & T Coastal Fields in Myrtle Beach and guess what? The Myrtle Beach Bombers were selected to shag balls for the Home Run Derby. On June 24, 2008, before the All Star Game started, the fun began. The kids showed of their ability to hustle and shag the balls as they were hit. Even the fans tried to get the kids to toss them balls and not too mention, Coach Johnnie D., got in on the action also. The Bombers had a great time and a lifetime of memories.
